<title>La Terre-Mère contre l’impérialisme ?
      <link>https://interfas.univ-tlse2.fr/slavicaoccitania/5271</link>
This article aims to outline the uses of the motif of earth in several texts that differ in genre and form, yet were all published after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24th, 2022, and were written by women and non-binary authors from Russia and Belarus: the short story collection black forest by tony lashden, the autofictional novel I Wish Ashes Upon My Home by Daria Serenko, the play We Are No Longer by Tatiana Frolova, and the philosophical essay Homeland by Oksana Timofeeva. From an anti-war and (eco)feminist perspective common to all these works, the motif of the earth—widely employed in patriotic discourse—is instead transformed into a tool of resistance against the imperialism of Putin’s Russia. This reinterpretation is achieved through a questioning of gender stereotypes linked with the ambivalence of the image of the earth (associated with birth and death, nourishment and decay), as well as with the polysemy of the term itself (earth as substance, territory, or planet). </description>
