Sémantique et sémiotique chez G. Chpet et N. Marr

G. Shpet and N. Marr: from Semantics to two kinds of Semiotics

Considering Shpet and Marr as forerunners of modern semiotics (interpreted not only as a science studying signs, but also as a synthesis / a dialog of various disciplines), we analyze their corresponding ideas in comparative aspect. A number of important distinctions in the theories of Shpet and Marr are studied in the context of the general situation in the language sciences in Soviet Union in the 1920s-1930s.
