      <link>http://interfas.univ-tlse2.fr/reflexos/533</link>
Literary transposition being a practice that has persisted throughout history, this essay compares two radio drama adaptations of the novel Canga by the Madeiran writer Horácio Bento de Gouveia. This cultural genre, which enjoyed a wide audience in Portugal during the 1950s and 1960s and continued to evolve alongside the increasingly dominant audiovisual media, not only disseminates culturally significant literary texts—albeit in a mediated form—but also helps establish a canon of fiction narrative for new generations. Without compromising the spirit of the work, Judite Navarro and Carlos Cabral produced, at different times, distinct versions of the novel, both offering their personal interpretation and aiming to meet the expectations and tastes of the anticipated audience. </description>
