      <link>http://interfas.univ-tlse2.fr/nacelles/2448</link>
From 1999 to 2001, the heritage services of three countries, France, England and Germany, with the support of the European Commission, joined forces in a study on aviation architecture. The study focused on three airports with buildings dating from the 1930s in Berlin (Tempelhof), Paris (Le Bourget) and Liverpool (Speke). The two first sites were national airports, both in activity at the time of the project, whilst the third, a municipal airport, was no longer in use, its buildings awaiting conversion to new uses. The project involved comparative research on the three sites, but also on other structures associated with flight, such as dirigible hangars and wind tunnels. The article gives a summary of this project’s ambitions and offers an overview of how the three airport sites have evolved over the past twenty‑five years. </description>
