The Brigate Rosse (Red Brigades) was a controversial social and political phenomenon that created a fracture in the Italian society in the 1970s. This paper analyses Le Monde articles focused on such a phenomenon from two crucial perspectives: the first appearance of Brigate Rosse as a media subject with the kidnapping of judge Mario Sossi in 1974, and their astonishing kidnapping and murdering of Italian former prime minister Aldo Moro in 1978. Here we propose a review of the journalism records of that time to describe the current understanding and media impact of those actions in 1970s Italy.

From among the most famous novellas of the Decameron, the last one has enjoyed a huge success since the XIV century anywhere in Europe and particularly in Italy. Nevertheless, the story of Griselda continues to be an ambiguous topic: it is excessively violent to be a comedy and it has a too joyful final to form part of the tragic theater of the XVII century. In the Opera, it is not Metastasio but Apostolo Zeno who, since 1701, brings back in vogue to Venice the character of Griselda. The paper initially proposes to analyze Zeno’s libretto to demonstrate how it points out a topical concern of the Venetian society: marital status set up by the Council of Trento and its sociocultural consequences. In the aftermath of the great success of Zeno’s Opera, something about twenty works are put in music in the XVIII century, particularly by Albinoni, Scarlet, Bononcini or Vivaldi. The last mentioned is inspired by a libretto reworked by Goldoni that will provideus with the argument to deal, in the second part of the paper, with the musical and literary dimension of the versions of Griselda to the Opera.

Proserpine is a « tragédie en musique » of Lully (LWV58-1680) that influences the cantatas with the same name of Bernier (1703) and Stück (1708). Since a century, text’s imitation is the foundation of French opera that Lully appropriates himself again. Nevertheless the successive Italian influences play of the divertissement in order to change the rapport between music and text. If the tragic – already softened compared to Ovide – appears first in Lully and Quinault, the dramatization of the music reduced the text to a mere pretext in the cantata.

This article looks into the three parts of Luigi Dallapiccola's Choirs of Michelangelo Buonarroti the Younger, the work composed between 1932 and 1936, representing a crucial moment in the artistic evolution of the composer and in the development of his music language. In this critical essay the study of the relationship between the lyrics and the music has been emphasised, since this fact has always been of great interest to Luigi Dallapiccola, a brilliant musician and a passionate expert on literature, not only the Italian one. For this article consulting some unpublished documents turned out to be of use.
