This paper attempts to show how the poetic act, essentially indefinable, is part of a constellation of signs and forces that determine it and put it in relation to the spatial notion of « place », starting with the page itself, which is already the source of the question of writing through the founding relation between the poetic text and blank spaces, the vertical dimension of the poem, to the « Outside » places where the page opens onto « something else », because the writing is connected through it with invisible links – not iconic, not mimetic – to the places and things of the world. Writing is entering this constant (but also fugitive) relation – evocation, memory or sometimes invocation – of places and things belonging to the sphere of perceptual or memorial experience, prolonged by all the sensitive and emotional resonances that these experiences have produced. Through the concepts of « threshold », « crossing », « rays the world », this essay explores the possibility of thinking about the poetic place as an orientation towards « the Open », which is different in concept from the mere physical-geometrical space, and from purely referential and geographic space. blank spaces, crossing, links, place, poetic act, poetic text, rays the world, threshold, utopia

« Translating the Gap » examines some of the difficulties, and what is at stake, when translating poetry. In contemporary poetry, there is something obscure, a kind of speech that seems to come out of an open abyss, akin to a gap (Ungaretti) between man and truth. Translating contemporary poetry is difficult not because one should explain its obscure meaning, but precisely because one must try and retain its very obscurity. The aim of this article is not so much to deal with the technical difficulties found is such and such a translation, but, through concrete examples chosen from translations from French into Italian, to convey a frame of mind, a conception of translation – an itinerary akin to a journey similar to poetic experience. gap, journey, obscure, open, poetry, translation
