      <link>http://interfas.univ-tlse2.fr/lineaeditoriale/1412</link>
The figure of the “caregiver” is now a greater presence in Italian society. Consequence of a social and economic crisis that also manifests itself with an aging population, the job of carer is at the origin of a new crisis. The Italian syndrome is the name of a pathology born of loneliness, estrangement from family and country of origin, the loss of points of reference. Contemporary Italian theater, attentive to changes in society, has staged this phenomenon. Through the analysis of the figure of the caregiver, in some plays by Serena Dandini, Lucia Calamaro and Tiziano Scarpa, we will try to highlight how the scene becomes the political spokesperson for a modern social problem. </description>
