      <link>http://interfas.univ-tlse2.fr/lineaeditoriale/1161</link>
Back from five years of war, Curzio Malaparte is 22 years old when he writes and publishes Viva Caporetto!, both a leading personal testimony and a political interpretation of the Great War. Against the official propaganda, he chose as emblem of the heroism of the trench soldier and hope of revenge of a despised people, Caporetto, the great retreat of the Italian troops under the advance of the Austrian armies which marked, in October 1917, the most painful military crisis that Italy has known. Three times censored between 1921 and 1923, Viva Caporetto! was an explosive charge against the young Italy that was being built on the memory of a victorious Great War. This uncommon story of war marks, at the same time as the entry into literature of the young Malaparte, the matrix of part of his work. </description>
