    <link>http://interfas.univ-tlse2.fr/kairos/119</link>
It is troubling to note that Levinas maintains an analogous relationship between classical metaphysics (as ontology) and works of art: “art” is “a celebration of being” (Humanisme de l’autre homme, p. 28), “culture and artistic creation are part of the ontological order itself” (ibid.), “art [is] [ontological] ostension par excellence” (Autrement qu'être, p. 51). Art, monstration of the world's mundaneization, play and enjoyment, keeps us in immanence to Being and in love with the World. In this contribution, we propose to retrace the journey backwards, from significations to meaning, from “the before”, “before Culture and Aesthetics”, to “Ethics, the presupposition of all culture and all meaning” (Humanisme de l’autre homme, p. 58). On this journey, we propose to focus on the articulation between “art” and “being”, and to ask the question: in Levinas's work and beyond, are poetry and ethics separated by an unbridgeable hiatus, or can they be linked, and how? </description>
