Abstract

Aesthetics of Poetry and Aesthetics of Prose in the Works of Gustav Shpet and Mikhail Bakhtin

The article considers the differences in the aesthetics of Shpet and Bakhtin as related to the predominance of poetry respectively prose as it is given in the philosophical works of booth authors. In this context poetry, prose and theatre are considered as three basically different manners of communication, as three different media within literature and as three ways to consider the world and to ground philosophy. In the case of Špet “inner form” is analyzed as a poetic concept, in the case of Bakhtin “dialogue” as one of prose. Booth concepts and booth aesthetics are complementary to each other.
